The second week of the new season did see some games called off because of shortage of players. If you are reading this and looking for someone to play for, send your name and contact details to webmaster@wksl.org.uk to get fixed up.

Division One / Two

Odukwe, the new club to the top two divisions, are setting the pace. They followed up last week's 11-0 win with a 5-2 victory over Dormansland Rockets. Scorers were Jordan Masters, Peter Lanstone, James Smith (2) and David Crouch. Rockets replied through  Ross Waghorn and Ollie Muggeridge.

Hot on their heels are Pembury Sunday, who have yet to concede a goal. Two goals from Tom Price and one from Charlie Kavanagh gave them a win at  Artois United. In goal, Toby Forward made it two clean sheets in two games.

Simla also have maximum points from two games. Their 7-2 win at home to Insulators included hat-trick from Matt Coleman, two from Ian Parsons and one each from Harry Hudson and David Blundell. Although under pressure in the early stages of this game, Insulators competed well and took the lead on 32 minutes when a fast counter attack saw an under pressure Simla defender put the ball past his own 'keeper. Simla were soon back on the front foot and five minutes later equalised from the edge of the box. two minutes later a cross saw an easy tap in for a 2-1 lead for the home side.

Surprisingly it was Insulators who scored the opening goal of the second half when Martin Page-Mitchell's shot just made it over the line. That was as good as it got for Insulators as Simla were stung into action and rattled in five  goals in the next half hour as the away side, with several reserve players on show,  tired.

Goudhurst United moved into fourth place after winning 4-2 at home against TW Ridgewaye. Jonny Riordan scored twice, while James Murphy and Ben Young added one a piece.

AFC Borough made up for last week's big defeat by inflicting a 5-0 drubbing over St John's Yard. The Yard are one of the teams currently short of players.  Five different players scored for Borough, James Heir, Ed Handford, Sam Edmunds, Tommy Overton and Redding Barnes.

Paddock Wood and Charcott had a close encounter at the Elm Tree and it was the Wood who came off 4-3 winners. The familiar name of Simon Hammond was head of the home side's scorers, marking a hat-trick. Sean Bodle added the fourth. Charcott's prolific scorer Jay Pring scored for the visitors, as did Dom Cole and Luke French.

Division Three

The Third Division's biggest score was at Tonbridge Farm where visitors TW Ridgewaye Reserves thrashed Tonbridge United 10-1 in a game that featured six different goalscorers for the visitors. Leading the way with three of them was Dom Lambert. Adding two each were Johnny Hughes and Nick Peters. Rounding off the scoring with one each, Toby Francis, Dan Thomas and Harry Demmon. Josh Salvidge scored what can only have been a consolation goal goal for United.

Top of the table on goal difference are Artois United Reserves after a 2-2 draw at AFC Borough Reserves. The home side scorers were Nick Jones and Oscar Harrison.  James Savage scored the pair for Artois.

Close behind are Speldhurst Rangers, who  turned up at Ticehurst with a make shift thirteen including three debutants. Speldhurst took an early lead through a ferocious strike from 25 yards by Jason Marsh, which went through the goalkeeper. Keeper Baldwin had a moment of madness and gifted the goal to Ticehurst. Speldhurst took the lead again in controversial fashion. Dan 'Badger' Kelly floated in a delicious cross which was cleared by a Ticehurst centre back only to Liam Legge-Beale who slotted past the keeper. The goal was flagged offside, but the referee over-ruled the flag and awarded the goal. Ticehurst came close to an equaliser with a corner which was sliced onto the line by a defending Speldhurst player before being cleared. Speldhurst wrapped up the win when James Hughes lobbed the keeper to make it 3-1.

New outfit Westerham achieved their first win of the season, 3-1  against Riverside Colts, with goals from Luke Cannings, Steve Brown and Olly Goodchild.
