Odukwe put aside three
successive defeats to beat TW
Ridgewaye 5-1 and go to the top of the Group 1 table on
goal difference. They still have to play Artois United. Scorers in
Sunday's win were James Smith, Finn Wells, two from Cameron Wenham
and David Crouch also found the back of the net.
In Group 2, Simla sealed
their place in the next round with a 5-0 win at Goudhurst United. Bal Maher,
who has joined Simla following the unfortunate demise of Green
Lane FC, marked his debut with a hat-trick. Also scoring were Luke
Leppard and Luke Stratford. In goal, Joe Cullipp kept his eight
clean sheet of the season so far. The final game in this group,
yet to be scheduled, will determine whether Goudhurst United or
Paddock Wood will join them among the automatic places. The top
two in each group will go through, plus the two best third placed
teams.
In group 3, AFC Borough
were unable to field a team against Dormansland Rockets. If Rockets are awarded the
points, the match on 20th March between them and Pembury Sunday
will decide who goes through as group winners.
Four ties were played and all went with form, with plenty of
goals being scored. There was a hat-trick scored in every game.
Artois United Reserves,
who have lost only once since the end of October, were too strong
for AFC Tonbridge, ending
the game 7-1 winners. Division Three's leading scorer Ollie Sugden
added four to his tally. He now has 32 goals for the season.
Also scoring were Alex Bridges,Rhys Newton and Adam Hardy. Alex
Wooster scored AFC Tonbridge's goal.
