West Kent Sunday League News Report – Sunday 3rd November 2019

For the third week running, bad weather affected the programme with half the scheduled games postponed. Some teams are being badly affected. For example, Pembury Sunday have played only twice since the middle of September.

WKSFL Senior Cup

In Group A, nine goals were shared between Green Lane and Armada. Armada started the game well and were 3-1 up at half time with the goals from Harry Tampsett, Josh Matthews and Ben Renshaw. Green Lane rallied for the second half and eventually prevailed 5-4. Bayley Colbran scored his second hat-trick of the season for them. Also on target were Tommy Welch and Ben Holder. Armada's fourth was scored by James Donaldson.

Very few games have so far been played but the table looks like this.

Group B is further along, with two games able to go ahead.

Cassidy's Phoenix are still top of the table after a 1-1 draw away to Charcott. Lynos Rwodzi scored the important goal in reply to the home side's top scorer, Jayson Pring, finding the back of the net. Simla got their campaign under way with a comprehensive 6-0 defeat of Royal Oak. There were six different goalscorers - Ian Parsons, Zak Wolvey, Matt Coleman, John Phillips, Luke Stratford and Brad Austin. In goal, Joe Cullipp kept his fourth clean sheet of the season.

WKSFL Junior Cup

Paddock Wood go the top of the table after beating Brenchley 7-0 at the Elm Tree. Simon Hammond took himself to the top of the League's goalscoring table with a four goal haul, Dean Squires scored twice on his debut with Jason Bourne adding the seventh. James Hadlow kept his side's first clean sheet of the season.

Tonbridge Origin did their chances of making the semi-finals a power of good, recording a 6-2 win at Tonbridge Farm over Ticehurst Village Club. Harry Bourne scored twice, Harry Millson, Alex Webster, Duncan Ibbotson and Reece Dangerfield also scored. Jason Marsh scored both for the Club. But, as the cliché goes, there is plenty of football to be played if the weather allows.
